MALLIKA WAS BORN AS "KEMPAMMA" IN 1965.SHE LIVED IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF BANGALORE.

AFTER DETACHING FROM HER FAMILY,SHE LOOKED UP FOR A JOB AND FINALLY,SHE WAS ABLE TO GET A JOB FROM A GOLD PURIFIER.IT WAS THEN AFTER,KEMPAMMA GETS TO KNOW ABOUT THE DEADLY POISON OF POTASSIUM CYANIDE.

ON A PARTICULAR DAY,MALLIKA STEALS SOME CYANIDE.IN 1999,SHE MADE HER TEST DOSE ON A WOMEN NAMED MAMATHA HOSKOTE .IT BECAME A GREAT SUCCESS.IT WAS THEN AFTER,KEMPAMMA STARTS TO TRANSFORM INTO INFAMOUS "CYANIDE MALLIKA".

ON 2006 DECEMBER 29,A MAN NAMED SHANKAR CAME TO FILE A COMPLAINT IN BANGALORE CITY POLICE STATION.HE WAS BEEN IN A BUSINESS TOUR FOR A WHILE.HE CAME TO COMPLAIN THAT HIS WIFE RENUKA GOT DISAPPEARED.

WITHOUT WASTING TIME,POLICE CHARGED THE CASE AND GET STARTED TO INVESTIGATE ABOUT IT.THEIR FIRST ATTENTION DRAWN TO AN UNIDENTIFIED BODY OF A LADY IN THE MORTUARY,WHICH WAS BEEN FOUND NEAR KAIVARA YOGI NARAYANA HERMITAGE.AFTER THE ANALYSIS,SHANKAR REALIZED THAT IT WAS HIS WIFE'S BODY.

BUT,2 MAJOR QUESTIONS RISE IN THE MIND OF POLICE:WHY RENUKA HAD CAME TO THESE HERMITAGE,WHICH WAS TOO FAR FROM HER HOME?AND HOW HER ORNAMENTS GOT DISAPPEARED?

AND FINALLY,THE POLICE RECEIVED RENUKA'S POST- MORTEM REPORT AND THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS BEEN PORTRAYED-DIGESTION OF CYANIDE.THE POLICE MADE A HEAVY INVESTIGATION ON THE CASE,BUT WAS FAILED TO FIND THE CRIMINAL.

A YEAR LATER.ON 2007 SEPTEMBER 19,A CALL WAS RECEIVED TO THE POLICE STATION OF MADDUR,KARNATAKA.IT WAS THE CALL OF A BUNGALOW OWNER,SITUATED NEAR VAIDYANATHAPURAM TEMPLE.THE COMPLAIN STATES THAT A HIGHLY FETID SMELL ROSES FROM ROOM NO. 103.

THE POLICE FORCE CAME TO THE SPOT AND OPENED THE DOOR OF THE ROOM.THEY GET TO SEE A DEAD BODY OF A WOMEN IN THE FLOOR.AND THE BODY WAS BEEN LIKELY TO BE 2 DAY OLD.

AS USUAL,POLICE TAKE DOWN THE CASE AND OPEN THE INVESTIGATION.THERE FIRST STEP WAS TO FIND A 2ND PERSON WHO CAME ALONG WITH THE DEAD LADY.BUT,THE POLICE RECEIVED THE STATEMENT FROM THE RECEPTIONIST THAT NO ONE HAS ACCOMPANIED WITH THE DEAD LADY.AND THE POLICE WAS ABLE TO TRACE THAT THE DEAD LADY GOT TO WEAR RICH DRESS,BUT THEY WASN'T BE ABLE TO FIND A SINGLE GOLD ORNAMENTS FROM THE BODY OF THE DEAD ONE.IT MADE GREAT SURPRISE FOR THE POLICE.

AND THE POLICE WAS BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THAT THE LOCAL TEMPLE HAS GOT CROWDED ONLY ON THE OCCASION OF SOME SPECIAL RITUALS.THE FARAWAY PEOPLE GET THE ROOMS BOOKED IN LODGES AND BUNGALOWS FOR THE LATE NIGHT STAY.BUT THE POLICE WAS ABLE TO FIND OUT THAT THERE HASN'T BE ANY RITUALS CONDUCTED ON THE DAY BEFORE OR AFTER THE LADY BOOKED THE ROOM.SO THE REASON BEHIND THE DEAD LADY'S INTENTION TO BOOK THE ROOM IS STILL MYSTERIOUS.

THE POLICE,FOR THE FIRST INVESTIGATION,HAS DECIDED TO QUESTION THE GUEST HOUSE EMPLOYEES.THE POLICE WAS ABLE TO TRACK THAT THE LADY'S NAME WAS PILLAMA FROM THE RECORD.THEN PILLAMA'S BODY WAS SENT FOR THE POST MORTEM.

WITHOUT WASTING TIME,POLICE WENT TO THE ADDRESS GIVEN BY PILLAMA IN THE RECORD.AND THE POLICE WAS ABLE TO RECEIVE THE POST MORTEM REPORT BEFORE THEY GET INTO THE DESTINATION.THESE TIME TOO,THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS THE SAME RASCAL-CYANIDE.

THE POLICE ARRIVED THE ADDRESS SPOT AND WAS ABLE TO FIND OUT THAT PILLAMMA WAS BEEN A MEMBER IN A WELL KNOWN FAMILY IN HEBBAL.THE POLICE WAS BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY SOME CRUCIAL EVIDENCES FROM PILLAMA'S HUSBAND,MUNIRAJU.HE EXCLAIMED THAT BOTH OF THEM HAD DECIDED TO CONSTRUCT A FAMILY TEMPLE IN HEBBAL AND SHE HAD GONE TO THE TEMPLE FOR HAVING AN ENQUIRY ON THE DESIGN OF A TEMPLE IN BANGALORE,RECEIVING AN ADVICE FROM A LADY FRIEND.

BUT HAVING A DOUBT ON THE STATEMENT OF MUNIRAJU,POLICE WENT AFTER HIM.BUT LATER,POLICE REALIZED THAT ALL THE MATTER TOLD BY MUNIRAJU WAS ABSOLUTELY REAL.THE POLICE WENT AFTER THE LADY FRIEND OF PILLAMMA.BUT FOR ONCE AGAIN,LUCK HADN'T CAME TO THE POLICE .

2 MONTHS LATER,ON 2007 DECEMBER 18,AN INFORMATION CAME TO THE POLICE STATION OF KALASIPALAYAM,STATING THAT A DEAD BODY WAS BEEN FOUND NEAR AN UNINHABITED AREA OF DODDA POLLAVARI TEMPLE.

THE POLICE FORCE UNDER INSPECTOR UMESH HAD WENT FAST AND WAS ABLE TO CLARIFY THAT THE BODY IS OF A WOMEN,ONCE MORE.THEY SPOTTED THAT THE LADY HAD WORE WEDDING DRESS,BUT NO signs of ornaments was been able to find out from these body.

as per the usual customs,body was sent for post mortem,and the same cyanide was been the cause of death for yet another time.

the police faced hardship to identify the body.but finally,they were been able to track that the body was of a lady named nagaveni,who belongs in a rich family in karnataka.

in the continuous investigation of police,it was been revealed that in order to have a child, nagaveni had usually went for visiting temples and perform rituals.the police was been able to get some crucial statements from nagaveni's husband that on the last time, she had wore a wedding dress and even more ornaments than usual time.the police tried their maximum,but was unable to reveal the real mystery behind these case.

it was then they decided to get information about the cases,which may has a link with these case,from other stations.

the response was been terrifying.a number of 4 cases has been reported with the same cause in karnataka within few months-digestion of cyanide.and the police was been able to find some common feature among the dead ones-all are rich,devotional and they had wore gold ornaments.but the most fascinating feature is that all the body's have been recovered in temple premises.the police realized the complexity of the case and they assured that these must be the work of a serial killer.

the police thought that these must be the work of a women itself.they affirmed that these lady must have sold all the gold ornaments in some jewellery.the police had informed the jewellery owners about it.

on 2007 december 30,the police received an information from an old jewellery owner from tumkur,stating that a middle aged women came with lots of ornaments to get sold.having a small doubt,he returned her back telling that he has no enough money for taking it.

the day arrived.2007 december 31st.the whole police force has spread the net for catching the notorious lady serial killer.the noon has arrived.having less traffic,a women came out of an auto-the notorious lady serial killer,cyanide mallika.

the police quickly arrested her.during the trials,the mode of killing ,explained by mallika was been horrifying.

1.note the rich ladies,who show great devotion,in the temple.

2.set up friendship with such ladies.

3.make them believe that there are some certain spots where they will get what they want most.

4.make them aware that they should wore good dresses and ornaments when arriving for the ritual.

5.during the ritual,a water,mixed with cyanide,will be given to the ladies telling them that's the holy water specially made for their purpose.

6.when the target is confirmed dead,all the ornaments will be taken away from their body and she will get disappeared.

in 2009,tumkur court sentenced mallika to hang for death.

but the karnataka high court has reduced the punishment into life imprisonment.even today,cyanide mallika is still alive in the central prison of karnataka.
